Building on its 2023 performance, Baykar—Türkiye’s defense-and-aerospace export champion for the past four years—again ranked among the nation’s top ten exporters across all industries in 2024. This milestone makes Baykar the first company in Turkish export history to keep the defense and aerospace sector in the overall top-ten ranking for two consecutive years.

Baykar—the company behind Türkiye’s originally and indigenously developed UCAVs—continues its steady ascent on the export front. For the fourth year running, it has remained the defense-and-aerospace sector’s export champion and, in 2024, once again secured a place among Türkiye’s ten largest goods exporters overall. After making history last year as the first defense-and-aerospace firm ever to reach the top-ten list, Baykar has held onto that podium position this year as well.
AWARD PRESENTED BY PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN
At the “Export Champions Award Ceremony” hosted by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) at Istanbul’s Haliç Congress Center, Baykar was named one of Türkiye’s top ten goods exporters. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan personally presented the award, which was accepted on Baykar’s behalf by Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar.

ALL PROJECTS SELF-FUNDED
Since its inception Baykar has financed all of its projects with its own resources, and ever since the 2003 launch of its UAV R&D program, 83 percent of the company’s revenue has come from exports. Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data show that Baykar was the defense-and-aerospace export champion in 2021, 2022, and 2023—and it has kept that title in 2024 as well.
EXPORT LEADER
Named the sector’s export champion once again by TIM for 2024, Baykar sustained last year’s momentum with $1.8 billion in overseas sales. In recent years, over 90 percent of the company’s revenue has come from exports, and in 2024 Baykar alone accounted for one quarter of Türkiye’s total defense-and-aerospace exports—propelling the country to the top of the global market for UCAVs.
BAYKAR: THE WORLD’S LARGEST UAV COMPANY
Sustaining its global momentum, Baykar—the world’s largest unmanned-aerial-vehicle manufacturer—has signed export contracts with 36 countries: 35 for the Bayraktar TB2 UCAV and 15 for the Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV.

Baykar has completed its acquisition of Piaggio Aerospace, the 140-year-old Italian aviation giant. Under the agreement, Piaggio’s facilities will serve as a strategic European hub for producing both the P.180 Avanti Evo and Baykar’s indigenously UCAVs.

Baykar, the world leader in the unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) export market, generated 90% of its total revenue in 2024 from exports—amounting to $1.8 billion.

Türkiye’s first unmanned fighter aircraft, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, has carried out yet another historic test in the sky. In the test conducted with the participation of two F-16 fighter jets of the Turkish Air Force, KIZILELMA locked onto the target F-16 using the national AESA Radar MURAD, and achieved a direct hit in its simulated fire test with the national air-to-air missile GÖKDOĞAN.
